Joan Edith Kaler Born in Los Angeles, California on Aug. 14, 1915. Departed on Feb. 2, 2007 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Joan Edith Kaler, 91, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2007. She was born August 14, 1915 in Los Angeles, California, and was the daughter of May Smith. Joan was fortunate to be a housewife and homemaker, but also volunteered her time to the Red Cross for 10 years. She was a member of the Verde Baptist Church. She enjoyed a variety of social activities; of which, some included singers clubs, playing cards and eating out. Joan will be remembered most for her indomitable spirit, and her love for life. Although blind for most of her life, she would overcome life’s obstacles and make the most of her everyday living. She leaves behind her daughter, Linda Ramsay of Cottonwood, Ariz.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Rio Del Oro Mobile Home Park, 325 W. Hwy 89A in Cottonwood, on Friday, February 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Verde Valley Caregivers, 54 Bowstring Drive, Sedona, Arizona, 86336.
