William Eldon Channon

Born in Grimes, Iowa on Nov. 26, 1926.
Departed on May 2, 2007 and resided in Rimrock, Arizona.

William Eldon Channon, 80, resident of Rimrock, born November 26, 1926 in Grimes, Iowa took his final flight peacefully on May 2, 2007 at his home with his family close by.

Raised in farm country, Bill moved to California where he started the “Iowa Farm Boys”. His entrepeuring vision is what led him to the Verde Valley so many years ago-he opened the first mobile home sales and land development business in the area. He was also an avid pilot, who owned the Rimrock Airstrip for a while.

Bill is survived by his wife, Donna; two step-sons; a gaggle of grand, great-grand, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie.

A special thank you needs to be extended to the doctors and staff at Verde Valley Medical Center and Hospice in the Pines.

Please join Bill’s family at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., at the Montezuma Chapel, 3450 E. Rusty Spur Road, in Rimrock.

Memorial Donations can be made to: Montezuma Chapel, P.O. Box 5053, Lake Montezuma, Arizona, 86342.
