Mary Theresa MacMaster Born in Detroit, Michigan on Nov. 15, 1936. Departed on April 26, 2007 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Mary Theresa MacMaster, 70, resident of Cottonwood, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday evening, April 26, 2007. She was born November 15, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. She was one of triplets born to John Michael and Catherine (Maloney) O’Dowd, both originally from Ireland. Mary worked and retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She took her retirement from the Oakwood Hospital in Michigan. She was a lifelong Catholic, and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was devoted to her faith and to her family. Mary was very proud of her Irish heritage, and over the years, she would visit Ireland-learning more of her heritage and keeping in touch with her family members. Mary enjoyed arts and crafts, and she was a collector of various cookbooks. She loved growing roses, and her yard was always in bloom and beautiful. She was loved by all, and will be deeply missed. Mary leaves behind her devoted husband of 39 years, Charles “Bernie” MacMaster, Cottonwood; brother, Patrick O’Dowd; sisters, Margaret King and Eileen Schott, all three of Mich. and several nieces, nephews and many friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, the Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Mary will be laid to rest at the All Souls Cemetery at a later date.
