Gladys Muriel LaBarre Gladys Muriel LaBarre, 84, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2007. She was born January 8, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to Art and Ollie (Hogan) Judson. Gladys attended the Chicago Community College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Professionally, she worked and retired as a property manager with housing rentals. Gladys served her country during WWII in the United States Navy. During the war she was a representative for honoring of women veterans in Washington. She was also a USO entertainer and singer for the soldiers of WWII. Later Gladys worked to improve the WWII Women Veteran’s Health Care. Other interests included interior decorating and gourmet cooking. Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a dear friend to many, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra LaBarre. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Lauren Renee LaBarre; three grandchildren, Daniel LaBarre, Melisa Mills and Josiah Mills; five great-grandchildren, Jasmin Mills, Jordon Briedenbach, McKenzie Turner, Scarlott Capp, and Jonah Capp, all are residents of Cottonwood.
