| Christopher Blair "Chris" Kortsen, 36, of Casa Grande died Dec. 1, 2007 at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande. Mr. Kortsen was born March 19, 1971 in Prescott. He graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1989. Music was an important part of his life, and he began playing guitar in high school. He enjoyed playing in the band Animals of Evolution with his friends for several years. He had a huge heart and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Tim and Beth Kortsen; two sisters, Celest Davis and Carly Mahlmeister; his grandfather Bob Brutinel; a nephew; and a niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Edward and Addie Jo Kortsen and Maxine Brutinel. In lieu of flowers, the family hopes that this tragedy can be used to save another struggling young man or woman through contributions to: Teen Challenge of Arizona, c/o Jeff Richards, 5598 W.
