Robert Leon Ackerman Robert Leon Ackerman, 70, resident of Camp Verde, passed away at his home on Monday, July 9, 2007. He was born September 21, 1936 Carmi, Illinois to Guy Robert and Thelma Pauline (Carter) Ackerman. Robert was a retired truck driver. He was a simple man, who loved being surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents; and his daughter, Amy Suzanne Christianson. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 50 years, Nancy Rose Ackerman of Camp Verde; sons, Vance Robert and Sharon Ackerman, Cottonwood and Scott Pierce Laurie Ackerman, Wash.; brother, Tom and Diane Ackerman, Nev.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in Robert’s honor on Saturday, June 14, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Camp Verde, where he was a faithful member. Robert will be laid to rest in the Middle Verde Cemetery-those services are private. Memorial contributions are to be sent in Robert’s name to the American Heart Institute, Local Chapter-Arizona Heart Institute Verde Valley, 450 S. Willard St., Suite 103, Cottonwood, Arizona, 86326, or to the First Baptist Church of Camp Verde, 401 Camp Lincoln Rd., Camp Verde, Arizona, 86322.
