Madeline Skala

Madeline Skala, 85, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on Monday, September 10, 2007 in Sedona, Arizona. She was born on May 11, 1922 in Wilmington, Delaware to Howard F. Berg and Ethel A. (Ohlson) Berg.

Madeline attended and graduated from the P.S. DuPont High School; following which, she received her Business Degree from Goldey Beacom College. Madeline worked for and retired from the DuPont Company located in Wilmington, Delaware.

She was a member of the Elam Methodist Church out of Elam, Pennsylvania. Madeline was an avid baseball fan; she also enjoyed reading and spectator sports.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Nelson Husbands; as well as her second husband, Helmut Skala.

Madeline leaves behind her son, Lawrence and Ann Husbands, Middlesex, N.J.; her daughters, Lois and Mike Kannan, Vista, Calif., and Sherry and Paul Woodbeck, Chico, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood; with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Inurnment will take place at the Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware.
