| Mary E. (Gordon) Shade Mary E. Shade, 82, 14 year resident of Cottonwood, passed away at her home on Monday, December 10, 2007. Mrs. Shade was born August 8, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Cyril and Grace Gordon. She retired from the federal government as a personnel manager. She was a member of the Monday Rosary, Secretary of the Grandmother’s Club, a volunteer at Verde Valley Medical Center, an was an avid Bingo player at the American Legion and VFW Lodge. She is survived by her husband, John R. Shade, Cottonwood; her children, Wendy Black and Renee Robinson, Cottonwood, Mary Toomey, Lakeridge, Va., William James Block, Brighton, Mich., Barbara Kline, Sterling Heights, Mich.; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren - including Daniel Block of Cottonwood. A Funeral services will be held at Westcott Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 Candy lane, Cottonwood, Arizona, 86326.
