Thomas Howard Stitt Thomas Howard Stitt, 84, resident of Camp Verde, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2007. He was born March 12, 1923 to Eugene C. and Lela J. (Rowley) Stitt in North Vandergrift; where he grew up and graduated from the local high school. Following high school, he attended the University of Pittsburgh; and he served his country during WWII in the United State Army. Later, he owned and operated Stitt’s Jewelry; as well as, he worked with Numec/Babcock & Wilcox as an analytical spectroscopist. Thomas was a member of many organizations; Free Masons (Scottish Rite), Elks Club, Lions Club, VFW, and the American Legion. He was also active as an adult leader of the Boy Scout Troop 548. Thomas also served as a councilman in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Thomas enjoyed working with model airplanes and repairing watches. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Lena Stitt. He leaves behind his wife, Martha Stitt, Camp Verde; sons, Michael and Theresa Stitt, Vandergrift, Penn., and James Stitt of New Kensington, Penn; daughters, Janet and Jack Stefanick, Hermitage, Penn., and Jill and Jim DeLuca, Detroit, Mich.; his brother, Donald Stitt of Vista, Calif. and six grandchildren - all of whom will truly miss him. Funeral Services will be held at the Westcott Funeral Home – Chapel of Camp Verde on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. with a visitation to begin at 2:00 p.m. An online guestbook is available at www.westcottfuneralhome.com Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood and Camp Verde, Arizona. |
