Walter L. Loops Walter L. Loops, 91, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007. He was born January 26, 1916. Walter and his family moved to Jerome in 1960, where he served on the Jerome Volunteer Fire Department. He drove truck for Belyea Trucking Company during the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam-making a record number of trips from Clarkdale to the dam site. He also worked for Yavapai County in road maintenance for many years; following which, he drove truck for CTI until he took his retirement in 1980. Walter is survived by his wife, Larene Loops; his son, Lester Loops with his wife, Janet; his daughter, Norma Loops Bolding; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Walter is preceded in death by his son, James Loops. No services are planned.
