Esperanza S. Prieto Esperanza Prieto, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the age of 101. She was born July 17, 1906 in Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico to Juan and Marina Silva; and during her youth attended schools in Page Springs, Arizona. Esperanza dedicated 34 years of employment with the Cottonwood Café. She enjoyed embroidering and gardening, but most of all, she loved to pray and bless other people. Esperanza was the beloved mother to one daughter, Frances Ontiveros of Cottonwood. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and thirty-five great-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 12:00 p.m., with inurnment to follow at the Cottonwood Cemetery.
