Vernon Leroy Ballantyne

Vernon Leroy Ballantyne, 87, passed away on April 3, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on October 27, 1916 in Cherokee, IA.

Vernon moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 24 years ago from Anaheim, CA. He worked as a maintenance foreman for Rockwell in Anaheim, CA; for approx. 20 years. Vernon proudly served in the U.S. Army WWII. He loved fishing, bowling, pool, cards, dominos and board games.

He is survived by his loving wife Gayle Ballantyne of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sons Michael Pickett of Sacramento, CA; Duane Phillips of Anaheim, CA; brothers James, Paul and Ronald Ballantyne, sister Evalyn Witcombe, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 from 7 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mel Soderberg officiating, Military honors will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #940l and American Legion Post #81.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in his name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az. 86405.
