Ellen Alice (Snyder) Parker

Ellen Alice Parker, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1971, at the Yavapai Community Hospital in Prescott. At the time of her death she was a resident of the Arizona Pioneer’s Home.

Mrs. Parker was born in Prescott on Sept. 12, 1887. Her father was Warner Snyder who owned and operated the Snyder Ranch and stage station at Bumblebee, which served the stage line between Prescott and Phoenix. An aunt of Mrs. Parker was the wife of King Woolsey, famous Indian fighter and owner of Fort Woolsey near the present day Dewey.

Survivors include a son, William L. Parker of Prescott; a daughter Mrs. Mary McAllister of Phoenix and a sister, Mrs. Amy Bennett of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held Friday, Dec. 31 at 10 a.m. at the Ruffner Funeral Home. Rev. Waymon O. Mitchell of the Four-Square Gospel Church will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery.

Friend may call this evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ruffner Funeral Home.
