| Mohave Daily News, Bullhead City, Arizona BLACKBURN, THOMAS – Master Sgt. Thomas E. Blackburn, US Army (Ret.), age 56, of Jonesboro, Ga. Died at home on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. In 1969, he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Devens, Mass., where he met Marianne, his wife of 36 years. He retired from the Army in 1989 and continued dedicated service with the U.S. Government until his death. He is survived by his wife Marianne of Jonesboro, Ga.; daughter Valerie and her husband Charles Wilson of Jacksonville, Fla.; son Christopher and his wife Melissa of Locust Grove, Ga.; mother Helen of Mohave Valley; and he was the proud grandfather of four: Crystal, Jonathan, Joseph and Lilly. Visitation will be Friday, November 16, from 11am-1pm and 6pm-9pm at Pope Dickson & Son- Jonesboro Chapel, Jonesbore (sic), Ga. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 10am at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church with Father Gregory Hartmayer, OFM Conv. Officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Autism Society of America. Pope Dickson & Son – Jonesboro Chapel is in charge of arrangements, (770)478-7211. |
