Mary Frances Madewell Fuhrman, 82, of Cottonwood, Ariz., entered eternal rest on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Ariz.

Memorial services will occur Dec. 12, 2007, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, Ariz. Viewing will commence from 11 a.m. to noon, memorial service to be at noon with graveside services services to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery at 2 p.m.

Mary Frances was born Oct. 5, 1925, at Parthenon, Ark., to James Alexander and Melissa Anna Jane Reynolds Madewell. She came to Arizona in 1944 and married James J. Fuhrman Jr. in 1950 and together they were owners of the Palo Verde General Store in Palo Verde, Ariz., during the 1950s. In 1961, they moved to Prescott, Ariz., and continued with the retail business with ownership of the Miller Valley Variety Store. She eventually returned to banking at various branches located in Prescott, Flagstaff and Cottonwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, James J. Fuhrman; her parents; five brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda J. Peeler and husband Winston of Riverside, Mo., Cathy R. Woodard of Silver City N.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American American Cancer Society or to the Mountain View United Methodist Church located at 901 S. 12th St. in Cottonwood, Cottonwood, Ariz.

Arizona Wakelin Family Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
