August 06, 1937 to January 26, 2008 Ronald Clark Enhelder, 70, passed away on January 26, 2008 at his home with his family by his side. Rod, as he was known to his family and many friends, was born on August 6, 1937 in Chicago, IL; to Robert and Josephine (Taddy) Enhelder. Rod moved to Arizona as a young boy, first residing in Prescott, AZ. In 1952, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving for 3 years. Rod moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1967. In 1970 he began construction on the Homestead Saloon, which opened in 1972. In 1974 he expanded to create the Homestead Steakhouse as well as a liquor store and remained the only owner. Colleen Rose will continue to run the restaurant with help from Rod's family. Rod had recently built his new liquor store, which has been a dream for many years. Rod is survived by his wife of 6 years, Bonnie; son, Ronald Enhelder Jr; and wife Amanda of Kent, WA; daughter, Rhonda Robinson of Kingman, AZ; step-son Mark Williams of Lake Havasu City, AZ; self adopted daughter, Colleen Rose of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brothers, Robert Enhelder and wife JoAnn of Phoenix, AZ; Thomas Enhelder of Georgia; as well as 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Lake Havasu Memoria Gardens at 1:30 p.m. Words of comfort and inspiration will be said by Pastor Bob Enhelder. Military honors will be presented by the V.F.W. Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81. A reception will follow at Rod's place, The Homestead Steakhouse. Rod's family has requested that donations be made in his name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86405.
