John J. Gorman

John Joseph Gorman, 88, passed away on January 11, 2005 in Front Royal, VA. He was born on May 4, 1916 in Pawnee, IL; son of John Gorman and Anna Molohon Gorman.

John served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked at the Pentagon in the Office of Naval Research. John married Maxine Elizabeth Gottieb on July 21, 1943. They lived in Falls Church, VA; until retirement in 1973, when they moved to Lake Havasu City and became active in the Elks, motor homing and square dancing. John was also instrumental in establishing what is now known as the Havasu Community Credit Union.

John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Maxine, five children, Karen Matkin, Patrice Kessler, Teresa Rudebusch, John A Gorman and Nancy Aschenbach, sister Mary Quintenz, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Friday, January 21, 2005 from 6 to 8 pm with a rosary said at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 12:00 pm. with Father Michael Deptula officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, Lake Havasu City, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made in John's name to Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Building the Church of Tomorrow fund.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
