Doris (Seamen) Hackett

Doris Euphemia Hackett, 87, passed away July 22, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Charles and Alice (Gauld) Seamen on January 28, 1918 in Youngstown, OH.

Doris married her best friend Edward Hackett on August 27, 1938 and together they made Lake Havasu their home 16 years ago from La Crescenta, CA. Doris worked for Bank of America as a bank teller for 15 years in Montrose, CA. She was a member of Hilltop Community Church. Doris enjoyed writing poetry, receiving national recognition for her poetry when she won an award from the World of Poetry.

Doris is survived by her loving family, daughters, Kay Jacobs of Indio, CA and Jeanne Rolls of Lake Havasu; grandchildren, Terri Spicer, Dean Cannon, Linda Miller, Jim Rolls and Tracie Rolls; seven great grandchildren, Jonathon, Adam, Lindsay, Cassidy, Brenden, Michaela and Jimmy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Edward, who passed April 6, 2006.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2006, 11:00 am at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Pastor Chad Garrison will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
