William E. Lloyd

William E. Lloyd, 79, passed away May 26, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Edgar and Ella (Wallis) Loyd on August 29, 1926 in Des Arc, MO.

William married his best friend Wilma Riggins on February 6, 1945 and together they made Lake Havasu their home 14 years ago from Chino, CA. He owned Lloyd's Auto Body in Ontario, CA for 10 years. William served with the United States Navy during World War II, from 1944 to 1945 on the USS Bellatrix and in the Amphibian Division. He also trained troops in San Diego.

William leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Wilma; sons, W. Michael Lloyd of Surprise, AZ and David Lloyd of Riverside, CA; daughter, Janice Ponchaud of Prescott Valley, AZ; brother Lee Lloyd of St Louis, MO; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

His family and friends were blessed to be able to spend time with him just prior to his passing.

A visitation was held Saturday, May 27, 2006 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with funeral services immediately following at 6:00 pm at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Military honors will be held by the V.F.W. Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81. Graveside services will take place Monday, May 29, 2006, 10:00 am at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Pastor Ray Carter will officiate.
