Alice Emilie Nyquist, 84, passed away December 14, 2003 in Yuma, AZ. She was born to Frank & Emilija (Yuska) Swinsky on January 12, 1919 in Chicago, IL. Alice was a resident of Lake Havasu for 10 years before moving to Yuma to be near her sister. She spent most of her life in Chicago where she worked as a switch board operator. She loved to bake especially when it came around to the holidays. Alice is survived by her family, son, Kenneth E. Nyquist of Kingman, AZ; two daughters, Donna C. Lucas of Pleasant Hill, CA and Dianne C. Nyquist of California City, CA; brother, Richard Swin of Naples, FL; sister, Emilie Traver of Yuma, AZ; seven grandchildren, Laura Nakamura, Jennifer Lucas, Kevin Lucas and his wife, Lucy, Melissa Lucas, Sherri Orland, Scott Orland and Allie Marie Nyquest; two great grandchildren, Rachelle Nakamura and Lucas Nakamura and Baby Boy Lucas who is due in January. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Father Charles Murphy will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Alice will be dearly missed by her beloved family and friends. Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
