Patricia Ruth (Welch) O'Connell

Patricia Ruth Welch O'Connell, 84, was born July 30, 1924 in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Louis J. and Zaida M. (Brown) Welch. She passed away February 27, 2009, in Lake Havasu City.

Patricia moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ. in 1968, 41 years ago from Gardena, CA. She graduated high school in 29 Palms, CA in 1942. She married Emmett O'Connell on February 24, 1947 in Yuma, Arizona. Upon moving to Lake Havasu City, Pat was an escrow officer for Lawyers Title for six years. She was also a member of Business and Professional Woman's Association and was elected Woman of the Year in 1981. Pat then went on to become a co-founder of Havasu Pioneers. Pat enjoyed her retirement by playing cards, following the Diamondbacks baseball team, and having lunch with long time friends. More recently she enjoyed her walks through Rotary Park with her special frend Al Borchert.

She is survived by her son, Emmett R. "Butch" O'Connell; her daughters Roberta J. Nelson, Candyce K. (Robert) Tomanek. She had 5 grandchildren, Monique Y. O'Connell, Brendan S. O'Connell, Russell J. Nelson, Richard J. Nelson and Erin L. Tomanek. She also had one great grandchild, Heather B. (Kellogg) Reppart, and one great-great grandchild Riley J. Reppart. She also had many step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
