Doris J. Polk March 8, 1932 – Jan. 3, 2008

Doris Julia Polk, beloved mother and housewife, 76, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 3, at her home in Lake Havasu City. She was born March 8, 1932, in Detroit, Mich.

Doris had a love for life and helping others. Not a person or animal ever went hungry as she fed all with her awesome home cooking. Garage sales and thrift store shopping were two of her many favorite things to do. In her earlier years, she had a love for art and oil painting of landscapes and oceanscapes. Her kindness, generosity and love toward her family, friends and two constant companions, her dogs Rosie and Ginger, are memories that will be cherished and remain in our hearts forever.

Her faith in God kept her strong through her four year battle with cancer. There aren't enough words to say about what a remarkable woman our mother truly was. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myles Polk, Sr. She is survived by her son, Myles Jr.; daughter, Sherry Bartik; grandchildren, Melissa Lenzi, April Polk, Brian Polk, Tanya Gillespie; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Lenzi, Katelyn Gillespie, Ashlyn Sky Booth; her sisters, Joann and Sharon; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be today at 10 a.m. at Lakeview Community Church, 1699 Acoma W., Lake Havasu City.

In lieu of flowers, Doris would want donations made to the Arizona Humane Society in Lake Havasu City. Arrangements under the auspices of Parker Funeral Home.
