Obituary from Owens Livingston Mortuaries, Show Low, Arizona Louis Henry Edwards Jr. 08/26/2008 Louis Henry Edwards Jr., 65, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside. Mr. Edwards was born Feb. 23, 1943, in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Louis Henry and Ida (Poindexter) Edwards Sr. On Sept. 5, 1965, he married Barbara Ann Hendree and together they had two sons, Louis Edwards III and Gary Leonard Edwards. Louis worked for the U.S. Post Office in Los Angeles as well as a local gas company in Linwood, Calif., before going to work for Kimberly-Clark in Fullerton, Calif., as a papermaker where he then retired after 25 years of service. Mr. Edwards was an avid sports fan enjoying both basketball and baseball. He loved the "Angels." Louis is survived by his wife, Barbara Edwards of Show Low Pines; sons Louis Edwards III of Washington, D.C., and Gary Leonard Edwards of San Bernardino, Calif.; sisters Shirlene Ivey of Show Low Pines and Sally M. Buckley of Central City, Calif.; brother LeRoy Edward of Memphis, Tenn.; nephews Derek (Queen) Duncan of Palm Beach, Fla., Alfred G. Duncan of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Kevin (Amy) Ivy of Apple Valley, Calif.; nieces Brenda (Phillip) Bias of Blythe, Calif., and Angela (Jeffrey) McCrary of Central City, Calif.; brothers-in-law Dwight (Georgia) Hendree of Walls, Miss., David Hendree and Daniel Hendree both of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters-in-law Calvin (Bernice) Claxton of Turtle, Ark., Dars Hendree and Patricia Hendree, both of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Owens Livingston Mortuary White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will immediately follow at the Show Low Cemetery. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
