The White Mountain Independent Online Edition - 10/08/2004 Lawrence E. Fellows, 83, of Show Low died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside. At a young age Larry joined the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served his country both in WWII and Korea where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He elevated in rank from private all the way to Major and he was very proud of his Marine Corp heritage. Larry was a fisherman, family man, and an avid supporter of the NRA and was a member of the White Mountain United Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons; Ronald and (Young-Ok) of Texas and Lawrence Jr. and wife Marva of Taylor, seven grandchildren; Donald, Robert, Stephen, Matthew, Justin, Jeremiah and Jamin. Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years; Harriet, daughter; Elaine, and granddaughter Elysia. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Oct. 6 at the Show Low Municipal Cemetery. Larry requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Lupus Foundation of America. Semper Fi Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
