Mildred L. (Mandy) Toliver

Mildred "Mandy" Johnson Toliver was reunited with the love of her life, Bill Johnson, and their daughter Sarah, Dec. 9, 2008. She was born July 21, 1921, in Lennox, Tenn., the youngest of five children born to Thomas Walker and Lelia Ann Cleek Sr.

Mandy had the distinction of graduating from high school at the age of 16 and college at 20. She taught high school English and literature in El Paso for many years.

Mandy and Bill moved to the Show Low area in 1969 where they owned and operated Wagon Wheel Furniture until 1982. After Bill passed in 1984, Mandy married John Toliver in 1985, a long-time friend of Mandy and Bill, and they enjoyed 11 years of companionship and travel.

Mandy was a member of Mizpah Chapter No. 57, Order of the Eastern Star in Show Low, where she served as Worthy Matron.

Mandy is survived by her sons, David (Norma) and Mark (Gay), daughter Susan (Mike), six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and brother Nathan (Montein) Cleek.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low with a viewing beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at the Show Low Cemetery.
