The White Mountain Independent Online Edition, Show Low, Arizona 02/07/2003 Edward Pepoy, 80, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003. Ed was born June 5, 1922 in a small village on the bank of the Hudson River, Fishkill Village, New York. He graduated from high school and entered the U.S. Navy and World War II. Ed participated in numerous hazardous operations in both the North Atlantic and South Pacific theaters. In 1943, Edward married Charlotte Linderman, his wife and partner of 60 years. Ed was honorably discharged from the Navy and shortly there after moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Phoenix. For many years Ed supported his family by working as a gifted cake decorator and baker. His speciality was creating cakes and pastries for countless dignitaries and movie stars. Edward was also an entrepreneur. In 1974, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving to the White Mountains where Ed and Charlotte purchased, developed and operated a mobile home and RV park. Edward met his future wife Charlotte on roller skates. Roller skating, ice skating and square dancing were among his favorite pleasures. He was a lifelong member of the Elks. Edward had the well earned reputation of being a "character." He always had a joke or two to share with an unsuspecting victim. Ed was an amazingly kind and generous man always willing to share and help someone out of a spot. He loved animals and usually had a pet or two by his side. Ed is survived by his wife Charlotte; son, Guy; daughter, Renee; granddaughters, Vanessa and Chelsey; sisters, Mary, Betty and Faye and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Chapel of Light at Green Acres Cemetery at 401 N. Hayden Road in Scottsdale, followed by a reception at the Pera Club.
