Charles Ernest Wright, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 03, 2008, in Snowflake. Born Aug. 28, 1921, in Santa Ana, Calif., to George Ernest Wright and Ida Mary Poh.

He married Jeanette Margaret Hannah on June 20, 1947. Charles was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He served in many capacities, including as a former branch president, a welfare mission in Oregon and Charles was "Camp Daddy" for 20 years for the Young Women at Girls Camp.

He loved every one, especially children and they loved him. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII where he served on the Battleship Massachusetts. Charles was also an avid gardener.
He is survived by wife, Jeanette; three children, Marcia (Tom) Goodin, Marilyn (Johny) Judd and C. Todd (Carolee) Wright; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Claude (Mary) Wright; a sister, Martha Ekwall; and sister-in-law Freeda Wright.

He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Krystal Goodin, his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Services were held Friday, June 6.

Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
