Mrs. Monreal was born in Metcalf, Ariz., to William Henry Sloan and Rose Ellen (Black) Sloan. The youngest of 12 children, she was raised in Clifton, Ariz. and had fond memories of many summers spent in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. Mrs. Monreal lived most of her adult life in Prescott and loved the town, especially the sight of Granite Mountain. "Nanny," as her grandchildren called her, gave her family the gift of unconditional love. Nanny had a wonderful sense of humor, was unfailingly optimistic, and was always happy to correct the grammar of a family member. In her younger years Nanny loved dancing and later in life enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and listening to music. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Woodrow Moore and Diego Monreal, and her daughter Margo. Mrs. Monreal is survived by her beloved daughter and devoted companion, Marjone Henry; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grand children; and four great-great-grandchildren. No services are planned. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to YRMC hospice. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.
