Mary Elizabeth (King) Skinner

Mary Elizabeth Skinner (Betty), 89, of Prescott, died Feb. 28, 2006, of pancreatic cancer. Born May 5, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Albert E. Skinner and Florence Aiken King.

Mrs. Skinner moved to Arizona 34 years ago from Tarrytown, N.Y., with her husband, Louis Edward Skinner, who died in Prescott in 1987.

In the 1930s, she graduated from both the University of Michigan and Simmons College of Social Work in Boston. She worked for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns and also for the Union Theological Seminary in New York City.

Mrs. Skinner is survived by her son, Louis who lives in Prescott; and two grandchildren, Kim and Scott Skinner, who live in Westchester County, N.Y.

Services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Thursday, March 9, at 2 p.m. Her burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, in Chestertown, Md.

Services entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary, Prescott, Ariz.
