The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona -03 /27/2009 Derek "Big D" Eugene McFarlin Kizzar, 29, died March 19, 2009, in Clay Springs. Born Dec. 19, 1979, in Merced, Calif., to Lenny William Kizzar and Karen Diane McFarlin. Derek was raised in Clay Springs and loved the White Mountains. Derek was the best son, grandson and friend you could have and he was a great father figure to his brothers and sister. Derek was a very good cook. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his mother, Karen Kizzar; brothers and sister William, Samantha, Dylan and Daniel Kissar; nine aunts and uncles; and grandmother Sammy Kizzar. He was preceded in death by his father, Lenny Kizzar, and grandparents Eugene and Glenda McFarlin and Leonard Kizzar. Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 25, at the Clay Springs Cemetery. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
