The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, August 16, 2006 Born on a farm in West Virginia in 1930, Robert Sevy spent his early childhood without electricity. When he discovered physics, he discovered his lifelong passion. His specialty was nuclear physics. Highly respected, he designed the shielding for the reactors on the Nautilus, the first atomic submarine. Some safety features he designed were put into widespread se. When Three Mile Island happened, he was requested to investigate the cause of the near disaster. Loving the Southwest, he chose Prescott for retirement. He collected Indian rugs and pottery and designed and built furniture. He passed away on August 10. Robert is survived by four children and eight grandchildren. He will be buried in Chicago.
