Fernando William DeClay, also known as Duke, of Whiteriver, went home to be with the Lord May 30, 2007, in Hondah.

He was born on July 7, 1977, in Whiteriver.

Fernando is survived by his children, Willie Fernandez DeClay, Fernando William Declay Jr., Denandez DeClay and Zeven Chee DeClay; companion Sharmaine Anderson; parents Althea and Serrano DeClay Sr.; brother Serrano DeClay Jr.; sisters Charity DeClay, Shannon DeClay and Sherrana DeClay; niece Janell Meade; nephew Jaron Nosie; grandfather Paul DeClay Sr.; godparents Janice and Randall Charley Sr.; godsisters Vanessa Kessay and Josina Lavender; godbrother Errol Zahgotah; goddaughter Janell Meade; uncles Paul DeClay Jr., Stephan DeClay, Jeris DeClay, Aaron DeClay, Patrick DeClay and Matthew DeClay; aunts Evangeline D. Williams, Janice D. Charley and Paulena D. Burnette; many cousins, relatives and friends.

Fernando was preceded in death by grandmother Dolly Clarkson DeClay; uncle Donnie DeClay; and cousin Elvis DeClay.

A two-night wake will start at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at his parent's residence at Knottslanding House No. 8. Funeral services will be held June 9, at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Whiteriver with Buster Beatty officiating. Interment will be at the Whiteriver Cemetery.

Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled the arrangements.
