Philip J. Staun III, Philip was born in Holland, Michigan on August 22, 1986. He was baptized in Michigan, celebrated his first communion in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Community in Scottsdale, Arizona.

He attended schools in Tennessee, North Carolina, Arkansas and Arizona. In 1999, he was selected as a Student Ambassador for the International People to People Program and traveled to Australia. He would have been a Junior at Desert Mountain High School, Scottsdale, Arizona this year.

Philip loved football and was a member of the 1996 State Championship Pop Warner team, a member of the Scottsdale Boys Club Football program where he received the Ron Burger Award for Outstanding Sportsmanship and Player of the year in 1998. He played football at Desert Mountain High School as a Freshman and received the Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award. As a Sophomore, he was injured but was awarded the Wolf Pack Pride award because he exhibited the "strength of the pack" by continuing to attend all conditioning, practice and games the rest of the year. He was slotted to be a starting linebacker this year.

Philip is survived by his parents, P.J. and Karen J. STAUN, brother Brian RENFRO and grandmother Wilma PRATT and many loving friends and family.

The Phil Staun Award and Scholarship Fund has been set up for memorial donations. Visitation at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd.; and Rosary and funeral mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 10815 N. 84th St., Scottsdale, AZ.
