| The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona - 09/23/2005 Erwin Easton Nez, 9, of Whiteriver, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005 at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Erwin was born Jan. 28, 1996 in Whiteriver, the son of Kenneth and Reva (Tortice) Nez. He was a student at Seven Mile Elementary School. Survivors include his mother, Reva Tortice Nez of the home; three sisters Jenna Nez, Margaret Nez and Brandi Nez; three brothers, Kevin Nez, Kenna Nez and Israel Nez, all of Whiteriver; maternal grandmother Hazel Colelay Tortice of Seven Mile. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth "Butter" Nez; paternal grandparents Israel and Irene Nez; and maternal grandfather Herbert Tortice, Sr. A wake will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at the Glen Tortice residence in Seven Mile. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Whiteriver. Interment will be at Whiteriver Cemetery.
