Frank J. McGuire, 82, of Prescott, died Aug. 20, 2006, in Prescott Valley. Frank, who was born on July 24, 1924, in Minneapolis, Minn., lived most of his life in Southern California, where he and his brother founded several restaurants. Frank still owned My Brother's Bar-B-Que in Woodland Hills, Calif. at the time of his death.

Cooking was Frank's greatest joy, and he loved entertaining friends. On his 81st birthday, he played host to over 100 guests in his home to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

After his retirement in 1998 to Prescott, Frank generously volunteered his time and money to many charities and donated food to Church on the Street and St. Vincent de Paul.

Frank was predeceased by his parents Gertrude and Patrick Francis McGuire, brother James McGuire and sister Pat McGuire Dildine.

He is survived by nephews Mike and Frank McGuire of Gardnerville, Nev., Kevin McGuire of Woodland Hills, Calif., Don Dildine of San Clarita, Calif., and John McGuire of So. Calif. nieces Patty Tudbury of Sacramento, Calif., Jan Delhi of Newberry Park, Calif., Coleen McKinnon of Washington, Margaret Russell of Alaska and extended family members, as well as many friends in the Prescott area and around the country.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

A private cremation will take place at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Frank's name to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 120 North Summit Ave., Prescott, Ariz., 86301.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.
