The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 3, 2009, p. A13 Richard Norman Sirois, 72, passed away last week at his home in Wickenburg, Ariz. He was born Dec. 28, 1936 in Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents Russell Elric Sirois and Lorraine Grace Arramy Sirois. Rick was raised in the Kankakee County area of Illinois. He lived there until he was 17, when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in the Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He worked for most of his life as an auto mechanic and service advisor with car dealerships in the Phoenix area, although his first real automotive job was in 1968 with Datsun of North America. In the 1970s he moved to Phoenix and worked for Camelback Porsche Audi as well as Max of Switzerland. He retired from the business after working at West Valley Nissan for several years as a service advisor. One of Rick’s favorite hobbies was building and flying remote-control airplanes, especially during his retirement years. He was also an avid firearms enthusiast and frequently practiced target shooting and reloading his own ammunition. On May 5, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nev., he was united in marriage to Pattie Ellen Barnes. He is survived by his wife Pattie and their son Russell Allen Sirois of Litchfield Park, Ariz. Arrangements are pending through Greenwood/Memory Lawn Mortuary of Phoenix, Arizona. |
