The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, August 11, 2006 James Huntley Phillips, age 69, died Aug. 8, 2006, in Dewey, Ariz. He was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Jack and Harriet (Randall) Phillips. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Jim was an active member of the Mountain Valley Church of God. He taught self-defense classes, loved sailing, traveling and enjoyed oil painting and water colors. Jim retired from his dentistry practice in 1998 and enjoyed the opportunity of going on missionary trips with evangelist Dennis Heber. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Leatrice; sons, Eric (Amy) and Craig; brother, Randy (Vlasta); friend and cousin, Phil (Rosanne) Riggs; and grandchildren, Nicole and Isabelle. Memorial services in honor of Jim will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13,2006, at Mt. Valley Church of God in Prescott Valley, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Jim may be made to Mt. Valley Church of God or YRMC Hospice in Prescott Valley. Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
