James R. (Jim) Dawson

James (Jim) R. Dawson went to be with the Lord on Aug. 11, 2006. Jim was 72 years old. He was born on Johnstown, Pa., later moving to California.

Jim and his wife Margaret retired 10 years ago to Prescott, Ariz.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He retired in 1994 from Lever Bros., after 35 years.

He enjoyed restoring old cars, especially his Packards.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Margaret. His son Dave Dawson, Los Lunas, N.M.; daughters, Kathleen Taglialavore of Oceanside, Calif., Patricia Dawson of Aurora, Colo., and MaryAnn Tarpley (John) of Temecula, Calif. Jim has eight grandchildren, Anthony, Michelle, Brian, Bucky, Amber, Mike, Kimber and Steven; and great-grandchildren Kaintlyn, James (JP) and a new baby on the way.

The family has requested that donations be made in memory of James to the American Cancer Society.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
