The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 12/19/2003 Terry Cray "Snuffy" Neff Terry Neff, 66, died Dec. 16, 2003. He was born in Snowflake and spent nearly all his life in the Snowflake/Taylor area. He was raised in Shumway on the farm and learned to work early in life. If he wasn't in school he was working on the farm. It was also in Shumway that he learned to hunt and fish. He will be remembered by many for teaching them to hunt and fish. Terry was the second of 12 children. He graduated from the Snowflake Union High School. After high school he tried to enlist in the Army and then went to work in logging. He worked for various construction companies as a heavy equipment operator. He's always been a hard worker and insisted on keeping the old equipment running. He also liked to spend time and work with young people. He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Taylor; one son, Michael (Mindy) of Taylor; two grandsons, Douglas Cray and Jared Allen; five brothers, Allen, Harmon, Billy, Keith and Robert "Bob"; six sisters, Donna, Dixie, Janet, Sandra, Edith and Wilma. Grave side services will be held Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Shumway Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake.
