Frank Bryon Ogden

Frank Bryon OGDEN II longtime Yavapai County resident, died in Prescott on June 29th, 2002, the 59th anniversary of his marriage to Carolyn BEEBE in 1943, in Stillman Valley, Illinois.

He was born on April 11th, 1920, to Frank E. and Helen FISHER OGDEN of Clinton, Iowa.

He attended the University of Wisconsin, University of Iowa and Babson Institute of Business Administration where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.

During World War II Frank was a Naval Aviator, flew the PV-1 and PBY anti-submarine warfare aircraft in the South American, Atlantic and Mediterranean theaters.

After the war he joined the family hardware foundry business, Clinton Lock Company, in Clinton, Iowa, where he served as Secretary.

He and his family came to Arizona in 1956. He owned and operated a commercial Hereford/Hereford-Charollais cross cattle ranch in the Verde Valley until the early 1970's. After selling the ranch, he and Carol moved to Scottsdale where he pursued business and investment interests.

He retired to Dewey in 1991 and moved to Prescott 1996 where he resided at Las Fuentes Retirement Resort until his death.

He became Supervisor of the Verde Conservation District in 1960. In November, 1962, he was elected as a Republican to serve as a State Representative in the 26th Arizona Legislature representing the 3rd District of Yavapai County. Frank also took an active interest in livestock associations, being a member of the Yavapai Cattle Growers
where he served as president and secretary; the Arizona Cattle Growers where he served as State Treasurer for 10 years; and the American National Cattlemen's Association. He also served as president of Tall Pines Farm Bureau in Coconino County and was a founding and life-time member of the board of directors of the Arizona Cattle Industry Research and Education Foundation. Frank was a member of the Arizona Academy and was invited to attend four of its Town Halls. He was a
member of the Association of Naval Aviation, Military Pilots Group of Prescott, Phippen Museum, Sharlot Hall Museum, and Prescott Symphony Association.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Prescott, son Frank E. and wife Jackie of Cottonwood, son Charles and his wife Margaret of Scottsdale, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was most proud to be the first of three generations of Naval Aviators, where his grandson and namesake is an active duty SH-60 helicopter pilot, chasing submarines just like his grandfather.
