Anastacio R. Morales

Anastacio R. "Tacho" Morales, 76, of Superior, passed away at his home Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002.

He was born in Sonora July 4, 1926, and was a life-time resident of the Superior and Copper Basin areas. He retired in 1988 after working in the mines as a plumber for 42 years.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was well known and loved in the community. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his former wife, Clara Castillo of Superior, and he leaves behind, as he affectionately called them, his "Dirty Dozen," Susie (Mike) Barregan of Mesa, Jenny (Eddie) Tameron of Apache Junction, Tony (Lydia) Morales of Superior, Larry Morales of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Molly (Tony) Gomez of Mesa, Eddie (Lisa) Morales of Apache Junction, Priscilla (David) Real of Mesa, Lydia (Danny) Moreno of Mesa, Alice Morales of Mesa, Johnny (Marisela) Morales of Superior, Antastacio (Patsy) Morales, Jr. of Superior, and Paul Morales of Superior.

Also surviving are two sisters, Josie Huerta and Anita Esquivel, both of Superior; 31 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward "Lalo" Morales and his sister, Ruth Hernandez.

Rosary was held Sunday evening, Sept. 22, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Superior. Father Augustine Kattady celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial Monday morning and interment with military honors followed at Fairview Cemetery in Superior.

Arrangements were made by Superior Funeral Home.
