Fred Caldwell Rites Saturday

Funeral services for Fred Caldwell will be held at 10 o’clock tomorrow (Saturday) morning in the Wickenburg Chapel with Bruce Hunt of the LDS Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Wickenburg Cemetery.

Mr. Caldwell, who had been maintenance man and gardener at the Flying E Ranch for the past four years, died at 1 a.m. Thursday in Community Hospital. He had been ill about one month.

Mr. Caldwell was born December 29, 1896, in Nebraska and resided in the Midwest before coming to Wickenburg to visit a son, Robert, who now lives in Phoenix. He and Mrs. Caldwell bought the Peaceful Valley ranch east of town 10 years ago. They sold the year following and moved to Oxnard, Calif., where Mr. Caldwell was a maintenance man and gardener in the school system there.

Surviving are the widow, Lucy; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Sims of Naperville, Ill.; two sons, Frederick, Jr., of Covina, Calif., and Robert of Phoenix; two step-sons, Robert Young of Ogden, U., and Ellis Wood of Ellsworth Air Force Base, S. D.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Helen Davis and Mrs. Mona Rae Barker of Brigham City, U.; and 19 grandchildren.
