Percy Elwood Hancock. 80, died Dec. 28, 2002 at home in Taylor.

Percy was born and raised in Taylor and raised in Taylor and attended schools in Taylor and Snowflake. He spent 41 years with the railroad after serving in the Army during WWII. His lifelong hobbies were working with horses and cattle. He also enjoyed farming and gardening. His family worked together on farms and ranches. Percy was a wonderful husband and father and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maxine of Taylor; one son, Eddie and Marie Hancock of Taylor; three daughters, Janice and Roger Rees of Lehi, Utah, Joyce and Mark Owens of Port Arthur, Texas and Susie and Ray Romero of Winslow; three brothers, Bob and Velda Hancock, Bill and Ronda Hancock, and Merlin and Sherry Hancock, all of Taylor; two sisters, Beulah and Everett Stewart of Mesa and Donna Lou and Charlie Hall of Taylor; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Florence Hancock; two brothers, Victor "Vic" Hancock and Lloyd Van Hancock, and one sister, Vera Palmer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the Taylor Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.

Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled the arrangements.
