The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 07/28/2006 Charleene Rogers, 73, passed away July 23, 2006 at her home in Taylor. Charleene was born in Snowflake to Thomas Burton and Grace Hatch. She attended school in Snowflake and graduated from Snowflake High School. She married Stanley "Bass" Rogers in Aug. 1952. They lived in Taylor most of their married life, and spent three summers running the concession at Woods Canyon Lake and lived two years in Winslow. Charleene was the first town clerk in Taylor, then worked for a time as a librarian in Snowflake. After that she worked at the Lobo Den for Gordon Farr before going to work for the Town of Snowflake as a clerk. She worked there until she retired in 1991. She loved growing flowers, especially her rose garden. She always loved nice clothes and she loved to decorate her home. Before her husband passed away, they liked to dance to western music.She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ and serviced in many callings in the church. Charleene is survived by one son, T. Brent (Ginny) Rogers and one daughter, Marla Ann Diefenbach both of Taylor; nine grandchildren, Alec Rogers, Kyla Rogers, Kala Rogers, Alan (Carrie) Rogers, Keely Rogers, Kolette Rogers, Amber Diefenbach, Devin Diefenbach and Adam Diefenbach; one great-grandson, Trey Schmidt; three sisters, Barbara Mackey of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Marilyn (Norman) Grable of Show Low and Chris (Scott) Sandersen of Riverton Utah; and a brother-in-law F.A. "Dub" (Velda) Rogers of Holbrook. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley F. "Bass" Rogers in 1973. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taylor Love Lake Chapel with a visitation from 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 28 at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake. Burial will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake is handling arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
