Carlos Martinez

Carlos Ruiz Martinez of Wickenburg died April 10 at Maricopa Medcal Center in Phoenix. He was 70

Mr. Martinez was born Sept 17, 1923 in Ajo, Ariz., and had lived in Arizona all his life.

He was a road construction worker and had worked for Phelps Dodge for many years.

Mr. Martinez was a member of St Anthony's Catholic Church of Wickenburg, the American Legion for 33 years and had served in the US Army (World War II) from March 27, 1943 to Dec 2, 1945.

He was baptized at the Church of Immaculte Conception in Ajo on February 11, 1924.

Mr. Martinez is survived by sisters Consuelo Mendez, Dolore Molina and Elsa Martinez, all of Ajo; a brother Ruebin Martinez of Phoenix/ He was preceded in death by his wife Conception (Chona) Martinez i May of 1987.

Services have been held, and interment was at Garcia Cemetery.

Father Mathew Mampara officiated.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Anthony's Catholic Church Building Fund.

Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
