Nina (Gatewood) Quesada

Nina Gatewood Quesada
(February 27, 1930 - July 31, 2009)

Nina Gatewood Quesada died early in the evening of Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Copper Mountain Inn Care Center in Globe following a lengthy illness. She was 79 years old.

Nina was born on February 27, 1930 in Whiteriver, Arizona to the late Chester and Mary (Bourke) Gatewood and lived her whole life in the Whiteriver area. She was a devoted homemaker throughout her life to her beloved family, whom she loved so dearly. They will all miss the daily services that she so selflessly provided to them.

Nina was member of the Ft. Apache Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities when her health was good. She was well-known for "tail-gate frybread" and as a camp dress maker.

She is survived by 12 children: Veda Carroll, Sylvia Tessay Beach, Dean Drew Tessay, Krista I. Tessay, Glenda V. (Joel) Hernandez, Colin K. Tessier, Renaldo D. (Mary) Quesada, Luane B. Nez, Annaleigh R. Quesada, Twana C. Quesada, Estrada S. Quesada, Garon E. Quesada; 30 grandchildren; sister, Ronda Lavender.

A 2 day Wake will begin 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Quesada Family home 107 N. 1st St. Whiteriver, Arizona. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Fort Apache Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Whiteriver. Interment will be at the Whiteriver Cemetery
