The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 08/03/2004 Effie Bell Phillips, 77, died July 28, 2004 in Phoenix. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She went through school there and soon after met Milton Phillips where they were both working at a meat packing plant. They soon moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico where they purchased a gas station, and moved to Holbrook in 1960. In 1989 they moved to Phoenix where they lived until she passed away. Effie was a life long member of the First Assembly of God Church and enjoyed serving and helping the church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and the church. Effie also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She loved her family and always enjoyed being with them. Effie is survived by her husband Milton E. Phillips of Phoenix; daughter, Clare (John) Knauer of Santa Ana, California; sons Dale (Linda) Phillips of Holbrook, John (Rita) Phillips of Show Low, Mark Phillips of Phoenix, Fred Triblitt of Holbrook; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven and Lee. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 2 at the Bell Gardens Assembly of God Church in Phoenix. Grave side services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 3 at the Holbrook Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
