| Pete B. Bidegain passed peacefully at home December 11, 2007. He was born August 11, 1918 in Flagstaff,AZ. Pete was preceded in death by his dear wife of 53 years Clorene Bidegain, parents Bernardo and Jesusa Bidegain, brothers John, Joe, and Tex and sisters Mary and Bernadina. Pete is survived by his children Brenda (J.D.) Braswell, Page (John) Gayler, Cathy (Tom) Dukes, Peter (Alma) Bidegain, and Todd (Caren) Bidegain. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and brothers Mike, Phillip, and Raymond. Pete was raised on his dad's ranches in the Willcox and Benson areas and was a true, native Arizona cowboy. He attended the University of Arizona, was a member of ROTC, Kappa Sigma fraternity and also served as Inter-Fraternity Council president. Pete was a member of the University of Arizona Polo Club, Rodeo Team and was the Rodeo Boss of the U of A College Rodeo. He also served as the state president of the Arizona Rodeo Association in 1959. After college he had a stint in the U.S. Navy and then settled in Casa Grande, AZ where he met Clorene and they started their family together. In 1961 they moved to the Babacomari Ranch in Elgin, AZ, the place the whole family always thought of as home. He thoroughly enjoyed being the ranch foreman at the ranch but more importantly enjoyed entertaining his own children, nieces, nephews along with lots of Brophy grandchildren. At age 55 he pursued a career in real estate which he continued for the next 25 years. Wherever Pete went and whatever he did, he loved people and they loved him. He was a generous and giving friend and the best husband and father there ever was. He loved his family, ranching, country living, and country people but always embraced others from all walks of life. Our deepest and heartfelt love and gratitude to Pete's wonderful caregiver, Manuela Acuna, who was always at his side in his final years. A special thank you also to helper caregivers Pituka Nunez, Judy Soto, and his TMC Hospice nurse, Barbara Gilbert. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elgin Community Club with a private family burial following at Black Oak Cemetary. He will be forever missed.
