The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, March 28, 1972 Mrs. Clare J. Lessard age 85 died at Arizona Pioneer's Home Monday morning. Mrs. Lessard was born in Williamsburg, Iowa , Jan. 30, 1887 and came to Prescott in 1910. She taught school at Dewey and later at Humboldt prior to her marriage to Grover Lessard in 1914. Mrs. Lessard, a member of a pioneer Arizona ranching family, managed the family ranch where the couple lived for many years. Mrs. Lessard served as Postmistress at Mayer, Ariz. from 1949 until her retirement in 1966. She has resided at the Arizona Pioneer's Home for the past four years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and belonged to The Catholic Daughters of America. She is survived by two sons, Joseph G. Lessard of Prescott and Col. William Donald Lessard U.S. Air Force Washington, D. C. as well as two sisters, Miss Helen McEachren and Miss Annie McEachren both of Prescott, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Rosary will be recited at Ruffner Funeral Home tonight (Tuesday) at 7:30 p.m. and Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Monsignor Robert J. Donohoe of the Phoenix Diocese, a nephew of Mrs. Lessard's will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Friends may call at Ruffner Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to Rosary time Tuesday.
