Rodean Cameron went home to be with her Lord on May 24. She was born Rodean Faye Mathiason on Aug. 11, 1922, in Denver, Colo., but soon moved to Topeka, Kansas, where she graduated from Topeka High School
in 1941.

While attending church in 1942 she met Ronald Cameron, who was enlisted in the Army and temporarily based nearby. They were married in 1943 after a six-month courtship.

Following the end of World War II, she and Ron moved to Maricopa, Calif., where Ron worked on a Gulf oil lease for nine years. In 1955 Ron and Rodean moved to Buckeye, Ariz., where Ron farmed with his brother, Gordon, in Harquahala. They sold the farm in 1977 and after a period of travel, and living in Emporia, Kansas, moved back to Arizona, where Ron worked on the Horseshoe Ranch with their son, Dean, and his father-in-law, Louis Wingfield. After a few years Ron and Rodean moved to Dewey where they lived for 19 years.

Rodean was a devoted mother and grandmother who lavished love and prayer on all her family. Her cheerful spirit and optimism was treasured by all. She loved the Lord and introduced much of her family to her savior. Her legacy of faith is evident in the generations who followed her.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ron; three children, Dean, David, and Ronetta; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by their first daughter, Gayle.

A small "Celebration of Life" will be held at the home of Dean and Shawn Cameron on Monday, May 29.

The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
